Stephen brings over 13 years of experience in direct work, residential treatment, early childhood education, and leadership in special education. Prior to AchieveKids, Stephen was a Therapeutic Teacher at the Lucy Daniels School in North Carolina, a non-profit school for children with significant social and emotional difficulties. In that role, Stephen played an integral part in the development and implementation of individualized therapeutic and educational programs for each child. Stephen holds a M.A. in Developmental Psychology and a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University. Since joining AchieveKids in 2018, Stephen has served as the School Director at our San Jose location, as Head of Schools overseeing each school site, and started as Executive Director in February 2023. He is driven to help each child discover and develop their strengths and to help them build skills for success in their school and community. Stephen is proud to be a part of the AchieveKids team and to help build on the decades of success in providing advocacy, education, and support for students and families.
